Kia ora and thank you for looking at our Website that gives an insight into Nelson Intermediate in 2011.  This is a very different school than when I attended in 1972 -73!

So I am a 5th generation Nelsonian, attended Hampden Street, Nelson Intermediate and Nelson College.  I have been married for 26 years to my wife Cate and have 2 teenage children.

Prior to coming to Nelson Intermediate in 2007, I was Principal of Mapua School, Deputy Principal of Victory Primary and various other teaching positions in Nelson and London.

I am an avid fan the great outdoors in our region and frequently spend time in the Marlborough Sounds, Pakawau and Lake Rotoiti.  I am a keen Mountain Biker having completed 8 Rainbow Rages, and also a keen Cricketer currently Coaching the Wanderers Senior Team.

We are very proud of Nelson Intermediate and the current culture that exists.  The ERO report (linked from our website) is testimony to the hard working and dedicated Staff we currently have.  It is my opinion that our Teachers genuinely enjoy Teaching and the relationship they develop with each class is very positive. 

“WHAIA TE ARATIKA” - follow the right path is what motivates and drives us.  We are wanting students to be equipped with attitudes and skills that will enable them to be worthy  participants in College and society in the future.
