Welcome to Nelson Intermediate…

Nelson Intermediate School is located at 112 Tipahi Street, Nelson South.

You are welcome to come and visit the school. Individual appointments can be made with members of the school senior management team, via the office. Please email admin@nelsonintermediate.school.nz or call 03 548 9572.

Open afternoons for prospective students are held in Term 3. Please see the calendar for upcoming dates.

If you would like to enrol your child please complete our online NIS Enrolment Form, and email studentservices@nelsonintermediate.school.nz with the below documents:

  • Immunisation certificate

  • A copy of any Court Order documents (if applicable)

  • If your child WAS NOT born in NZ or DOES NOT have an NZ passport we require one of the following eligibility documents:
    - Australian passport (if Australian citizen) or
    - NZ residency permit or NZ student visa/permit and Parental Work Permit (if the child is not a NZ citizen)

NOTE: If you require a paper copy of the enrolment form and/or would like us to take copies of the relevant documents please visit the school office.

 

Other forms to complete if required:

  • If your child requires any medication while at school please also complete the Medicine Authority Form. An adult must bring this to the school with the medication in its original packaging.

  • If your child will be bringing their own Chromebook or laptop to school please also complete the BYOD Form and bring this in with the device. Other information about BYOD can be found here.

BUSES

School buses are available for those who live further than 3.2km from Nelson Intermediate. These buses travel from Hira, Tui-Glen, Atawhai, The Wood and Founders Park.

Further bus information can be found on the School Info page, and you will also need to complete a Bus Form when you know which route your child will be traveling on (routes can be found at the bottom of the ‘School Info’ page).


Hero - Student Management System

We use Hero as our Student Management System at Nelson Intermediate. Please look at this helpful Parent Guide to familiarise yourself with its use and follow this HERO instruction page to sign up and start using Hero.
